Czechfest Food
Tex-Czech influences
Much like many other communities, when Czech immigrants came to Texas, their food reflected their loves from the homeland while mixing with the melting pot of America. In honor of that heritage, Czechfest 2026 proudly features:
A proper Czech-Tex lunch featuring kuřecí řízek and kysané zelí (think chicken schnitzel and sauerkraut, but better), gravy, buttered potatoes, and green beans from the Lodge 88 Kitchen Committee. SERVED FROM 11:30 AM TO 3:30 PM UNLESS WE RUN OUT BEFORE THAT.
Kolaches and klobasniky (that's what you're supposed to call the ones with meat) from The Kolache Shoppe, Olde Towne Kolaches (OTK), Prasek's, and Hruska's Store & Bakery. For sale inside the Ballroom and a 2nd location in the Annex this year. (This gets asked a lot.)
Smoked goodness from the Lodge 88 BBQ Committee — including Czech sausages, pulled pork sandwiches, and various delicious items on a stick. Plus our famous Frito Chili Pie featuring our over-the-top smoked chili.
Perogis — because the Austro-Hungarian Empire had great taste.
